Happy Anniversary to Us, Hunn! (AN Open Letter To My Hubby)

And,we have completed our 6 years of togetherness! Life with you is a wonderful journey along with our beautiful gift, our daughter. She’s the bestest thing that happened to me ever.

In these 6 years, I have loved  you more each day. Yes, I fight with you, irritate you and and sometimes don’t talk to you but we are always together. Good or bad, we were always together and have supported each other in need. I know I am little bit impulsive but always sorry for the things that hurt you badly. Sometimes its difficult for me to express my feelings and I want you to understand them without speaking any words. Love comes in different ways but at the end, love is love, there’s no rules to follow. You are the one who makes me feel special everyday with my flaws and accept me for who I am. You are a great husband and the best daddy to my baby. You are a family man who can do anything for the sake of family, friends and humanity. And I am always afraid your kindness should not be mistaken as your weakness. You are a strong man and I trust your potential. I feel loved and secured when you are with me and always wish we can stay like this forever.

Our marriage was in traditional style planned by our parents and I keep complaining I did not get an opportunity to plan my wedding in my own style. But I feel blessed that our marriage has achieved that incredible milestone and wish for many more. I never thought I would have an arranged marriage, but meeting you  I realised arranged marriages are romantic too. I always wanted to marry the person I  love rather than a person whom I hardly knew. But I was very bad at relationships. True love never happened to me until I met you. At first, it was just a marriage, which was later followed by love, trust and respect. Thanks to God and our wonderful parents who have found the perfect match for each other. Must say, after our marriage my life is has changed completely, in a good way. Of Course, every day is not roses, some days are very difficult, but each day our marriage grows stronger. I may not be a perfect wife, but I really love you Hunn! and always try to be a good wife.

Happy 6th Marriage Anniversary to us and look forward to many more years.

Family Vacation in Georgia

Summer is already here! Everyone is so much excited as we have booked a family trip to Tbilisi for 4 days which is obviously too less time to explore a city. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia. The city comprises of diverse architecture, amazing history, old orthodox churches and a lovely weather. As Dubai temperature shoot up beyond 45 degree Celsius, we opted for a hill station in Georgia. This is our first Europe tour and we were too much enthusiastic. We booked the tickets two months earlier which gave us enough time for preparation and the bad thing is that the plan kept changing. Thank God, we did not cancel our trip and visited Georgia.

My husband was too much stressed out  with his workload affecting his health and peace of mind. At home, he could not stop discussing about his work and colleagues, eventually our four year old can remember some of the colleagues name. And my life became monotonous and boring with my everyday routines. My little girl was also missing most of fun and excitement in her life. All of us, just needed a break!!!

Somehow, my dear husband got this amazing idea and he reserved our tickets to Tbilisi, Georgia. We already started shopping for the trip. I got some cute dresses for myself, just needed to reduce some weight to look good in them. Not too easy!

And the most awaited day has arrived. We started from Dubai at 11 a.m. and reached Tbilisi at 2p.m., on time. As soon as we landed in the airport, we met our travel guide, Sofi and she greeted us with her warm smile. She was nice, polite and very helpful. Then she took us to our hotel. We reached our hotel and took some rest. Evening, we went out to walk around the city. We hired a taxi and asked the driver to drop us to any good restaurant. He took us to “I Love Tbilisi “, actually that’s not the name of the restaurant but a sign placed next of it. The name of the restaurant was Machakhela, one of the famous restaurant in Tbilisi which is located in Meidan Square. It was a lovely place for youngs and olds to gather in the evening for meeting, dining and take beautiful photos.

Me and my husband being great foodies, always love to try new cuisine. So we ordered their special dish, Kachapuri with chicken, Mexican style pork fry with potatoes, one fish meal and a vanilla cake for the little one. Khachapuri is a traditional Georgian dish made of cheese-filled bread and a stable food of Georgia. We enjoyed  our delicious food and we were done with our dinner.

After food, we walked around the Tbilisi streets adoring the amazing architecture and the lovely weather. We climbed up to Metekehi Church, located on the elevated cliff above the Mtkvari river. Along with the church, there was an equestrian statue of Vakhtang Gorgasali. The view of Tbilisi city was phenomenal from the top of the church. We sat there for some time and clicked some photos.

In Tbilisi, the native people speak Georgian, Russian and little bit of English.  A taxi driver mistaken us as Iranian, unaware of India which has surprised me. When we told him that we were from India, he started singing “Jimmy jimmy aaja aaja“, an old song of 80’s and we all were laughing, I was wondering from where he heard that song. As because of our language barriers, faced a little problem to finding out our hotel. Anywise we reached our hotel safely.

And we finished off with our first day in Tbilisi and geared up for the next day!

Yoga – A way to live life!

As a human being, living in this complex world, we have infinite problems in our life. We tend to be sad, depressed ,angry and worried over many things which we want in our own way. Anger and anxiety destroy our peace of mind making our life so miserable. Few days back, I have gone through many ups and down which made my life so stressful. Moreover, my lazy lifestyle, continuous eating outs and no time for  workout had made me feel so unhealthy and am guilty about it.  And I had to do something about it.

I have always knew that Yoga is the best thing to do when you are stressed out. Yoga is a holistic way to live life and and to maintain a good balance in our physical and psychological health. In Bhagwat Gita, it is mentioned “Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam”, which means Yoga is perfection in action. Practicing yoga helps in controlling our mind, body and soul and helps manage stress and anxiety.

My mom has been doing yoga for quite long as she has benefited practicing yoga mainly Kapalbhati  , which detoxifies all the systems in our body. Her high blood pressure has improved including chronic back pain, leg pain, gastric problem and many more. She had been encouraging me to  practice yoga whenever I have complained her about my cold, back pain and insomnia but I was not much interested because of laziness. The regular practice of yoga not only  helps in flexibility, but helpful in every aspects of life making us happier, stronger and more self confident.

The term “yoga” meaning union in Sanskrit which has originated in ancient India over 5000 years ago. Yoga was mentioned in the oldest sacred texts, the Rigveda and in Indian tradition it is considered more than physical exercise, it has a meditative and spiritual core. It connects our inner self with the outer world. Later, yoga was introduced to the west in the late 19th century and become very popular across the western world due to its effectiveness.

Recently I have started practicing yoga and it’s already 2 weeks and I am really surprised on how good I feel after doing it.. I haven’t join any yoga classes but practice doing it at home watching Shilpa Shetty’s yoga videos on youtube. At my  first attempt, I could able to do  some of the poses. Slowly I have improved myself but don’t think I can do, Chakrasanas (the wheel pose) which is like impossible to do lifting my head above without touching the ground. Hopefully, with regular and consistent practice I could do better.  Everytime, I practice yoga, I  feel more refreshed and energetic with some positive vibes throughout my body. Nowadays, I am sleeping better and I have no cold, no back pain and feeling happier.

There are so many people who are following yoga and have transformed their lives which motivate others  to do for Yoga. The gorgeous Indian actress, Shilpa Shetty, who is also a mom, known for her stunning beauty, fit body, slim waistline and flawless skin who is an ardent follower of Yoga is a good motivation to mothers like me.

I have just started my yoga journey, I am not sure how far I can go but I will try my best to add it to my  daily routine. Because Yoga is not an exercise but a lifestyle, a way to live life.

Happy Yoga to everyone!

Best Friend Forever

Being a human being, we all need a good friend in life.  In different phases of life, we meet many friends, some remain for short time and some for lifetime. In early childhood, my cousins were my best friends and very few friends outside. But as time passed we cousins moved to different cities and could hardly meet each other. And I got new circles of school friends and had lots of fun. But because of dad’s transferable job I had to switch several schools which was sometimes very difficult for me. As we moved to different cities, my close friends were left behind which made me sad, frustrated and lonely . I met new friends and believed that no friends stay with you forever and I learned to keep myself  happy with new friends.

I finished my schooling, went to college, then university.  I was so blessed to have many good friends in life. And I met a special friend in university. Both of us had entirely different personalities, I was a little shy, introvert while she was bold , confident and fearless. But we get along really well, and love to hang around with each other. It was a great fun being with her, like going for movies, window shopping, eating, night out, exploring new things and many more. I never hesitate to tell anything to her and we share our secrets. Meanwhile, I had some problems in my life, when she had supported me and help me out. I am grateful to her for being with me in my bad times. Every girl must have a girl best friend, because only a girl can understand another girl. Those were the awesome memories to preserve forever. But sadly, because of some misunderstandings created by others, we were drifted apart and stopped talking to each other.  I was sad because I had lost my dearest friend. In the meantime, we finished our masters and move on to different city for jobs. We were busy with our own lives, friends and never faced each other except in few get togethers. As time passed, both of us got married, but did not try to contact each other.

Out of the blue, one day I pinged her on facebook and started talking, then came to know that both of us  were expecting mothers. Motherhood is a wonderful gift in itself which not only make us happy, but wipe out all our troubles and makes us a better person. Keeping aside our old issues, we were very happy for each other and started sharing each other’s lives. Among girls, it’s a very common mistake, instead of talking and sorting out the things, we know  usually keep mum and don’t resolve the problems.

I was so glad that both of us were blessed with beautiful daughters at almost same time and after that, we bonded to each other so much. We loved to talk on miscellaneous topics, like our interest, spouses, parenthood, travel, style, fashion, blog and help relieve each other’s anxieties. I never felt lonely again, because I had my best friend with whom I can share my bloomy and gloomy days. Now, we are living in different countries but miles apart we are close to the heart.

I wish, we’ll be best friends forever, till we are old and wrinkly.

Incredible Arabian Night

If you are in Dubai, and not been to desert safari, you are missing out the most incredible experience in life.

After magnificent Jabel Jais mountains in Ras Al Khaimah, it was our next adventurous trip in Dubai. The most exciting, thrilling, fun filled dune bashing, camel ride, delicious buffet dinner, bonfire, bbq, belly dance and a lot more. The beauty of the desert was so magical when the sun go down. The colour of the sky turned into orange,so stunning and spectacular view which was reminding me of a beautiful song “Aafreen Aafreen” by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.IMG_9498

We have booked for the tour a day earlier. Next day, we were waiting for the the pick up at 3 PM afternoon and we reached there on time, not to miss the  lovely sunset. The thrilling sand dune bashing was no less than a rollercoaster ride with so many ups and downs, just afraid not to hurt my back. My 2 years old was scared a bit but she enjoyed the ride. Then we stopped to see falcon, the national bird of UAE which is considered very special creature in Arab tradition and culture. As I was too scared of camel ride, didn’t give a try. We have tried to capture the mystic beauty of sunset over the sand dunes. Whether you are a good or bad photographer, the desert makes your photographs look amazing with dramatic landscapes.

My baby enjoyed playing on the sand, jumping, running and hopping around. Just for a moment, I felt as if I was walking on the moon. Then, we arrive at traditional Bedouin style camp where a delicious bbq, buffet dinner awaits along with enchanting belly dance and dazzling tanoura dance. There were many stalls to take pictures in Arabic costumes, henna painting, souvenirs,  beverages, drinks and many more. But I was too tired to try on anything and was relaxing on the carpet while my husband was busy with the little one. The entertainment show begun with a wonderful tanoura dance. Then, a beautiful and talented belly dancer charmed the stage with her enchanted dance moves.

After delicious BBQ dinner,  we decided to come back. It was an wonderful Arabian night experience, something you shouldn’t miss, lots of fun, adventure, entertainment, most memorable experience that you can cherish lifelong.

Ghazal Night in Dubai

IMG_9407After a tiresome day with my super active daughter at home whole day and my husband who had to go to work on weekend, we decided to dine at Gharana, an Indian restaurant in Holiday Inn, Dubai Al Barsha. It was an awesome experience with relaxing, warm ambience and beautiful live music by talented singers and musicians. The flute music was amazingly soothing and stress buster.

I have visited many Indian restaurants earlier but this one was amazing. The cool and calm ambience, ideal for family gatherings and friends meet. I would say it’s one of the best Indian restaurants in Dubai that serves the most authentic Indian food. We have ordered Murgh Soorkh Tikka, Chicken Tikka Biriyani, Adraki kheema, Butter naan, tandoori roti, a glass of red wine for husband and martini for myself. We enjoyed our dinner while the singer was singing songs requested by the guests there and one requested by us, a beautiful ghazal “Koi Fariyad” from Tum Bin movie. It was a beautiful evening spent.

A Day in Mommy’s Life

I think it’s normal for moms like me to feel frustrated and heartbroken many times. Definitely, staying at home makes us low, lonely and depressed sometimes.IMG_9296

Yesterday I have spoilt my day being negative and creep about the things that I have seen in social media. I was frustrated to see some people losing their weight so easily without any workouts, diet control, etc etc., which I was doing like a crazy to lose some weight. Lucky are the people who can stay slim without compromising with their food and without doing any exercise. To look beautiful has become the most important thing for today’s women, no matter what and the worst thing is the comparison with others. Not only that, my stay at home mom status was bugging me. I am a proud stay at home mom to look after my kid and spend most of the time with her. But whoever I meet, always asking me questions like, “Are you working? “,”When you go back to work”?,”Why you aren’t working?”, etc. Most of the time I responded saying that my kid is too little to leave her with someone else and go for work. My daughter is four years old now and when she also asked me why I am not going for work, it confused me and rethink my decision of being a housewife and a stay at home mom.

When I was struggling with all these feelings, my husband comes  home late and not to blame him, but his stressful work which has exhausted him like anything. Looking after my kid, feeding her, helping her with homework, playing with her, fulfilling her demands etc., keeps me so occupied, hardly gets time for myself. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to handle everything and feel like screaming out, which I know not going help anyway.

No one can help me unless I help myself. So, ignoring all my negative thoughts, prepared myself for a new day. Next day, I woke up early and after my daily morning routine, cleaning, cooking, sending off my daughter  to school , husband to work, I had my breakfast. Then, went for shopping and bought some new dresses for myself. Really a great mood booster. Next, I always love doing something with my hair, so gone to saloon and added some highlights to my hair. It look fantastic ! I was much happier at the end of the day. Being selfish is not bad, it makes you happy and a better person. “When you take care of yourself first, you show up as a healthy, grounded person in life,” says Bob Rosen, which is very true.

IMG_8337Whenever you feel low or worthless, just get up and do things you love. Not only you feel good , it will boost your self confidence, self esteem and your attitude towards the life.Be a happy mommy.

My Baby’s First Day at School

Happy Mother’s Day to all Gorgeous Moms! Today, I would love to share one of the my most beautiful experiences. My daughter’s first day at school, very exciting and an emotional moment. Just a week before her third birthday, she was about to begin her new journey, her school life.

The most awaited day, 14th January 2016, when I had to send my little one to school. Staying at home, spending all day with her, chatting, playing, singing, dancing, doing everything together while her dad is off to work, made us so much attached that sending her to school was a tough decision. How can I send my little baby with someone? Can anyone take good care of her? What if she gets hurt and cries? So many questions running through the mind and separation bumps had frightened me. I was happy, excited, at the same time very worried. But I was telling myself that it’s the good decision for my child, for her growth and future.

Earlier, when we visited the school, we were pleased to see the lively classrooms filled with cute little furniture, colorful pictures, numbers, alphabets on the wall and an amazing play area with different toys all around.

Finally, the big day had arrived.I woke up early in the morning with some great feeling. Before waking her up from her sleep, I just looked at her beautiful face, kissed her on the forehead and whispered, today’s her first day at school, then she opened the eyes with a beautiful smile on her face . She was very much excited to go to school. By the time, I dressed her up for the school, my husband got ready too and we had our breakfast happily. We were all set for the school.  I packed her lunch box, water bottle and carried an extra clothes and diapers etc., as listed by the school. Finally, we walked to school, feeling nervous and anxious but hidden my feelings, pretending to be happy and preparing her for the first day.

As soon as we stepped in the school, the teacher greeted us and before I could say goodbye and hug my little one, she rushed into classroom accompanied by another teacher. The teachers were nice, experienced and they assured us about her good care and guidance. My husband and I spoke to them, finished all the formalities. My husband had left for his work and I was waiting there and watching her from the window, but out of her sight. I was happy to see my baby happily playing with other kids.

Later, I left the school bidding goodbye to the teachers. I came back home with a heavy heart leaving my part in a new place, new environment among new people without me. I missed her terribly, the house looked so empty and I burst into tears. My husband called me and was trying to console me, and asked me to call up my mom. I felt better talking to my mom and was waiting for my baby to come home. I reached the school to pick her up, seeing me, she ran to me and gave me a big hug. I was so happy to see her, I kissed her and lifted her on my arms. The teacher told me, she was happy most of the time, just cried a bit at the end. Reaching home, we were talking about her new school experience. I was proud that my little girl has grown up and stepped into a new life, to the real world. A great milestone for parents and children. So, the big day has ended much smoother and happier than expected.

Today, she has completed almost one and a half year and she’s a very happy and confident child who loves going to school. Great, that was a right decision, filled with joy, excitement, and tears.

A Trip to a Beautiful Mountain

Our first trip from Dubai, a long drive to Jebel Jais mountain in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Jebel Jais is a magnificent mountain, tallest in UAE, which is located on the border of Oman and UAE. It was nearly 176 km from Dubai and takes about 3 hours to reach there by car. We started early in the morning at 7:00 AM and reached at around 11 AM. Traveling with a 2yrs old toddler our speed was limited.  That was her second road trip and I was nervous if she gets irritated or cries on the way. As I was little prepared, I have packed all the essentials along with like food, diapers and extra dresses for her. But I was really pleased to see her enjoying the trip without being cranky. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful child. On the way, we stopped for a coffee break. The view was amazing with uncluttered and smooth roads surrounded by spectacular rocky mountains.  Situated at the height of 1900 m from sea level,  it was cooler, calmer and relaxing atmosphere than the city and a great spot for a picnic, trekking, biking and long drives. But of course, need to be very careful while driving because the road has many twists and turns. It was a fantastic road trip and one of the most unique and amazing travel experiences. An awesome place to visit when you are in UAE, one can enjoy the beautiful scenery while driving, a best getaway for a weekend when you are in Dubai.
